How to tell if you have the latest edition of a booklet
The edition number of a booklet is denoted by the last digit of the booklet’s number
so, for example, PDF-001-1 is a first edition but PDF-001-2 is a second edition.
A new edition number is only allocated where there is a substantial update of information,
such as a complete re-write or the addition of more information or photographs. A
suffix is added, for example PDF-001-1a where there is a revision of a booklet with,
for example, a text amendment or the addition or correction of a photo credit or
maybe the addition of a single photograph where the body of the book is not substantially
changed. In this way you can always check if you have the most up-to-date edition
in your library.
