The images on this site are from a collection of colour photographs donated to the LTHL by John Blannin. Unfortunately most were subsequently destroyed when our storage area was flooded. We had already scanned some of them and we have therefore decided to make these available for FREE personal download. Most were taken around de-regulation in 1986 and depict the colourful scene with many smaller companies entering the fray - many of which did not last too long!

The photographs are all 6x4 inches and are 300dpi in jpeg format, which should produce an acceptable print should you wish to print them out. Right click on the image to save it to your device.

Photos may be downloaded FREE of charge for personal use, although a small donation to our funds if you download more than a few (minimum is £1) would be welcome.

The LTHL holds the copyright and reproduction rights to most of the photos on this part of the website and they should not be copied or reproduced anywhere without the requisite permission. Photos may be reproduced without permission on not-for-profit or charitable websites providing the photos are credited to the Local Transport History Library and a link (www.lthlibrary.org.uk) included.
